Cord3 Innovation was officially incorporated in December 2013, but our story began years earlier.

Beginning in 2008, our leadership team—CEO Bruce Carruthers and CTO Glen Henderson—partnered with the Canadian Department of National Defence (DND) and global defence agencies to design early concepts for securing sensitive military data in highly complex, multi‑domain environments.

Partnering with Defence Scientist Dan Charlebois, the team developed the first conceptual frameworks for DCS —frameworks that were later validated through multiple extensive military exercises. These early demonstrations proved a key insight:

The most effective way to protect classified and mission‑sensitive data is by enforcing data-centric security directly within the network (on the wire) to ensure seamless interoperability across coalition and joint operations and minimize the dependency on application modifications and interfaces.

Recognizing the need to bring this breakthrough technology to the broader defence community, Bruce and Glen founded Cord3 Innovation Inc. with direct support from DND, dedicating the company to commercializing advanced data‑centric security solutions for military and coalition environments securing data from the tactical edge to operational command, and through to strategic command.

Today, Cord3 continues to advance the state of data‑centric cybersecurity by offering:

As a trusted partner to both NATO and FVEY defense organizations, Cord3 remains committed to delivering innovative, standards‑driven security solutions that safeguard the world’s most sensitive information.
